If you think guns cause people to commit crime, you need to have your head examined. No one buys a rifle and all of a sudden feels that they must shoot some one. Killers buy the gun with the intention to shoot some one. Same goes for knives, ball bats, and gasoline. A gun is a tool, and you are truly ignorant if you believe they cause the US to have a high crime rate. People commit crime, not inanimate objects. Why not blame Ford or Chevy for car wrecks or hit and runs? Anti gun logic is flawed.

I think Jackie Mason got this really wrong. Certainly a lot of the media attacks on Palin were underhand & sexist; depicting her as a dumb hockey mum or air head ex-beauty queen. But her lack of knowledge and experience was a huge deficiency to the McCain campaign. In interviews she failed to convince people that she could get up to speed. Masons valorization of her previous policies feels a bit over reaching; her previous policy decisions were not that great. The McCain strategy was poor.
