I believe that it is just as much likely that there is a "physical abnormality" in the brain as it could be a chemical problem. The problem is... all the shrinks have a "chemical fetish" ...everything is a chemical problem to them. I have had a hell of alot better results with Clinical Psycologists...who advise you how to breath and tricks to lower the panic level.....head shrinkers just stare at you for 30 minutes, write a prescription and send you on your way.

Prozac is a "double edged sword".....more so than all the other drugs I tried....and I have tried many. This drug has more reports of making the user "agressive" and dangerous than any other drug of this type. It worked wonders on my depressed mother when my dad died. I tried it, as I have had Agorophobia/panic attacks/depression for 42 years.....i had a bad reaction to it....i was picking fights with everybody, feeling very edgy and this was on a low dose! So....roll the dice, give it a try

I think I was affected in part by the heat (I moved to a very hot climate and I didn't use my AC). I also have some social anxiety. I went back to the doc after two weeks and focussed on my relaxation techniques and I was fine. I was close to be stuck on blood-pressure drugs my whole life.

the blue ones are 10/500s. those are good too. i think they are lorcets,. not sure. theres so many diff ones, 10/650. 10/660/ 10/500/ 10 325 etc etc. but any 10 is good. just be careful you dont start taking too many because once u get hooked on takking alot you have to keep up the habit and it gets costly, and if you cant afford it but are hooked, you are screwed to no end

I made the Morphine tea from the Papaver Somniferium Pod."The Opium Poppy pod" It had Morphine, Codein, and all sorts of alkoids. It got to the point where I was using at least 5 pods for one cup a day. Thing is each pod has its own level of alkoids and one day i overdoesed.... Not fun.. Got back and did heroin and went through rehab shortly after.. I advise not getting into the Opium family of drugs.

Once a significant tolerance develops, your brain becomes unable to produce endorphins (if I recall correctly) and some other essential chemical.That is the same thing all addictive drugs do though,over time,they wear out the receptors in your brain and your body becomes temporarily unable to produce ANY of it by itself.Alcohol,it replaces the GABA production,which is a chemical that relaxes,you are likely to have seizures and DIE on booze withdrawal,opiates wont

I take thirty milligrams a day for major depressive disorder. I started off with 10 mg but then slowly increased my dose. I take seven pharmaceutical pills daily. Three 10 mg Lexapro tablets, 2 Lamictals tablets twice daily (for a total of 100 mg). I haven't experienced nausea or side effects I would experience with other drugs such as Zoloft, Effexor, and Cymbalta. It is effective in a low dosage and is a potent drug especially when combined with a mood stabilizer which enhances its effect.

An excellent medication for those who need it. It has the best side-effect profile and (at least for me) has been life-changing. Many people mistakenly stop this medication because of some side-effects that do go away in time. Like any other medication, you have to give it a chance. Hey no problem dude. I had terrible OCD in high school, but as I got older it subsided (but trust me, seeing a psychologist about it helps). So see a professional for a while and talk to others who have it. Anyway, I had ABSOLUTELY NO loss of energy. I also have an irreversible anxiety disorder which helps it. When you say that you "grew out of OCD" after taking 50mg of lexapro a day, do you mean that after taking lexapro for a period of time that your OCD just subsided and that you no longer needed lexapro to treat your ocd? I take/abuse Tramadol (Zydol) to get high, 500mg (10 * 50mg capsules) in one go. It gives a great high as well as feeling calm and sleepy. The downside is I get Itchy all over my body sometimes scratching till I bleed.

I have two broken hips and I am waiting for a total hip replacement. I am on 200mg of tramadol a day, the active ingredient of Ultracet, and I wouldn't even know I was on it. "Useless" is the word I'm looking for and those of you wanting to get high should know that while it does bind with opiate receptors, it is around 1/6000 the strength of morphine in terms of its euphoric affect. This is the last drug in the world you could become addicted to. It also blocks the effect of other opiate drugs.

Got a lot of friends who tear these patches apart and eat the gel inside. That takes one hell of a tolerance. It's dangerous and not recommended. Bad stuff if used irresponsibly.

Yes, it is nice not to have to take so many pills but it is also very scary to think about the possibility of addiction. I am not familiar with your condition but I hope it can be cured. I have been in pain management due to a car wreck for 8 YRS (just started Fentanyl) and I am hoping surgery will fix me but I am also somewhat worried whether I will have problems getting off the meds. Usually I can do ANYTHING I set my mind to do but I have received very harsh warnings about this drug.

That is so sad. I am very sorry for your loss. I am fortunate to have awesome doctors who LISTEN and are very observant as to whether or not people are trying to get their drug fix or if they are really sick or in pain. I wished your son could have been so lucky too. I don't know what I would do if I lost my daughter(only child-age 20)so I can't claim to know exactly what you are going through but I know it must be absolutely horrible. My deepest sympathy to you.

It may be difficult for some people to believe, but NOT EVERYONE are druggies although prescription meds can be very addictive even in a controlled environment and many people do abuse them. I suffer from severe neck and back pain caused by an auto wreck. I just started taking fentanyl. I hope to have surgery soon and be able to NEVER have to take another pain pill or apply another patch. That would be more wonderful than HAVING to waste my life taking prescription drugs. I hate taking drugs!

I also lost a son at 24. He suffered from headaches. After practically being accused of been an addict he turned to drugs that were obtained illegally.He was not versed with the propper dosage and that was the result...his life! Dr's think they are gods.The patient should always be given the benefit of the doubt.I wonder how many others are driven to street drugs because of these often pompous morons!
