Being 31 years old, Willie Nelson was a little before my time, but having heard him when I was very young, his songs stuck with me. Now, as an adult, I have a real appreciation for him. I don't usually like country music. I gravitate towards indie rock, but Willie crosses all boundaries and is a true American icon. I think that every generation needs to be exposed to the music of Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. There's a depth there that isn't always found in today's music.

im not getting at anyone in any bad way..but if its so easy..how come they are able to make something so simple sound so difficult..may be by knowing what the chord progression is, people may think its so easy..but there is so much more going on inside of these turnarounds besides the major/minor scales. like the diminished..(so important) the music is beautiful... i believe that the black man is a true king. so many world contributions with little respect and recognition.someone cursed us!!

Wow! Who would've guessed that THE LION would be here, man?! This is incredible! Duke Ellington's phrasing and chords, Billy Taylor's IMPECKIBLE technique and timing, and Willie's classic cigar and his unique ideas with rhythm. This is truly great. 7/5 stars.

Very nice performance - thanks for the posting. These guys aren't idols, they're MUSICIANS. Every note Willie sings is placed knowingly. I personally like harmony, also I think the gravelly voices are right for this song.

As a birthday gift to my dad in '93, I flew him (and me) to this concert. Dad was NOT a Dylan fan, but LOVED Willie. 'Pancho & Lefty' was his favorite Willie song. After he watched Bobby & Willie's duet, he leaned over and whispered to me in his Oklahoma drawl, "I've been wrong about that Dylan. He seems like a pretty good ole boy." He flew back to Indy, me onto NYC. A week later I got an unexpected call: Dad, just 67, had passed away in his sleep. We played 'Pancho' at his wake.
