yeah. i often read that MK is underrated and stuff which I don't understand because MK is a lot but NOT underrated. Terry Williams (the drummer) on the other hand is maybe not wildly underrated but at least very undeservly unknown. watching the whole alchemy concert for the first time a few years ago, I realized that the dude literally explodes behind his drumkit. since then I always pay attention to him and it's just fun to see him playing!

tone is in the fingers ;b to an extent, obviously a strat wont sound like an LP but the differences in tone from one artist to the other can largly be contributed to how they play and not what they play, which is why even if you were to set up EXACTLY as hendrix did, i mean with same gear he used could you find it, and could play the same, it would still sound very different than hendrix

whats with all of this better equipment crap. I thought vintage guitars and marshalls were sought after to get that legendary tone. Am I wrong? Is that why people pay THOUSANDS to get reissues of their favorite gear and pay hundreds of thousands to get the real vintage stuff. Sure we have better PA's now but lets face it the "gear" back then was better.

You can't say that this version is better than Hendrix's original. Tehnically this version is great and Gary has a great tone, but not better than Hendrix's version. Not even close. Someone may like this version more than Hendrix's version (that is all ok), but a fact is that Hendrix's version is better! After all, Jimi is the best electric guitar player of all times. You can always discuss over who is #2, #3, #4, etc.. But #1 is Jimi, by far. Nobody compares to him and nobody touches his level!

I totally agreee... speed is not the measure of a good guitarist... many young players are seduced by speed, but eventually they realise thats not what its all about... but it is part of learning the instrument.. I have no problem with youngsters trying to play fast.. at least they are playing and thats a good thing.

Being a good guitarist has nothing to do with speed or technique. It's about capturing your emotions into a few vibrating strings, and through them tell your audience how you feel. Noone can do this like mark does. It's all about feeling, not technique nor speed

Don´t know about the amp. Could be a vox too. Sounds very good I must say. The guitar is however not a 50s Les Paul. I can tell by the bindings around the body. The width should be the same all around but these are wider at the base of the neck to cover the egde between the maple and the mahogany.
