Well, I've been playing them back to back and so far all I've spotted is the use of the word 'cunt' on track 4 of both albums (Phair's 'Dance of the Seven Veils' and the Stones' 'Casino Boogie'): "I only ask because I'm a real cunt in spring/You can rent me by the hour"; "Dietrich movies, close up boogies/Kissing cunt in Cannes". Biblically,it was Salome's mother that wanted John the Baptist head. She hated him because of a difference in religious opinions. When the girl was done dancing and Herod offered her whatever she wanted. She asked her mom what reward she should ask for and her mom told her to ask for John the Baptist's head on a silver platter. Herod really didn't want to do it, but he had to keep his word. I think she screamed because it was more what her mom wanted than herself.

Herod didn't want to kill John, but Herodias told him if he didn't keep his word, that he would be embarrassed before his guests, so he had John executed. John's disciples came for his body & buried him. The movie may be entertaining, but it's far from the truth. I don't understand why people find it necessary to alter the story for film. The truth is more interesting than fiction!

In the Bible king Herod married his brother's wife (bigamy & incest!) & John the Baptist frequently told them that they were living in sin. Herodias (the queen) hated the Baptist & after he was imprisoned by her husband, she & Salome plotted together to have John beheaded. Herodias was aware that Herod had the hots for Salome. So, on his birthday, Salome danced before Herod & his court. He promised her to grant anything to her up to 1/2 his kingdom. That is when she asked for John's head. Cont'

Rita had imeasurable talent, her interpretation of a western choreographer's bellydance is even breathtaking-you're right-she had a beautiful figure by any and all standards and she used it perfectly in this number. I don't know of any actress in silver screen history who could top her body movements.

I guess this video just focuses on the impending doom Harry is always facing. Usually he'll get out of it, but it's just a temporary reprieve. I can't take all the credit for some of these cuts. Also, the music is Vicious Traditions by The Veils. I just liked the sound of the song.

Amazing...Aida Gomez is so graceful...Carlos Saura did a fantastic job on this play. I remember watching it some years ago live here in Thessaloniki Greece. It was in an open theater and right at this scene it started to rain real hard. As the music got more frantic, the rain did too.Aida kept on dancing under the strong rain, passionately! The audience went mad!! It was a one of a kind, rare scene to remember!!!

Wow,wow,qué película taan buena. La música,la bailaora y el concepto en sí mismo de la película son extraordinarios. Saura en un master de las películas de corte flamencoso (por así decirles). La historia de Salomé es tan bonita y se presta completamente para montarla en flamenco. Excelente!!!
