Play the string(s) lightly with a pick or thumb ont at a time and get as much sustain as you can. Slowly turn the machine heads to get the needle to go to the middle or the lights to go on. Double check it with harmonics. If all else fails get one lesson from a local player who's always in tune...JH

i've been playing guitar for years and have always hated tuners and use my ears all the time. the reason why is because when i pick, the attack of the string makes the tuner go sharp first and then fall flat while it rings out. is that normal? since the pitch of the attack is so important, is ringing it out to tune accurately a good idea?

It's a Korg tuner and I would recommend it for a beginner. Tuners work better if you plug (1/4") directly into them with your electric or an acoustic/electric guitar. The acoustic mic built into the tuner can pick up other sounds in the room and doesn't read the signal as well.

Buy a Direct Tv HTL-HD which has a NTSC and a ATSC built in Tuner that works with out a Supscription as long as your in range of the TV Stations That broadcast the ATSC Signals!!!!
Make sure the Remote is included its a HMRC-14
other box that works is a LG LSS-3200A

Thanks for the video, very informative. Is it possible to hook a VCR to the back of your Hughes to record, let's say, channel 24.2 (my kid is hooked on reruns of Mission Impossible). It airs at 11 p.m. here on some retro tv network (which isn't available on cable) He's hogging my T.V., waaay past his bedtime...lol

You can't get HD on a regular TV, but you can get digital TV (4:3 SD). That's exactly what crcooktube has shown is his video. My Comcast cable box converts standard digital to my analog TV so I can view it. His box does the same thing, only over-the-air. The tuner also allows you to tune in channels, that you cannot with a NTSC tuner (2.1, 2.2, 2.3 etc.) If you are buying on of these for a HDTV without a QAM/ATSC tuner, make sure you buy a "high Definition" receiver (1080i)

If thats the case, do you have any issues with the Japanese and Indians dubbing live action movies into Japanese and Hindi? I hope so, since we all know from MST3K that live action dubbing is a crime against art. Animation is the only thing you can get away with. Plus those Japanese voice actors are sooooo great. Some of the "women" characters have shrill squeaky cute voices that are almost above the human range of hearing! So kawaii!

While I can see the point that dubbing have existed soley to make it easier for the audience and I would be very put off to see dubbing in a live action movie... I still think DDS dubbing is fantastic. And yes I have heard the japanese ones too. Also DDS with the highest probability takes place in America (well what used to be) so having the characters speak english just makes more sense. Same with MGS (though I think the russians should speak russians :p)

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you. I love the story, and I'm totally obsessed with the games, but the gameplay itself is deadly boring. The only thing I look forward to is the next cutscene, and those are pretty rare because you need to level grind quite a bit.
