well the amount of heads it turns depends on where you drive it. the Porsche looks like every other 911 ever made, they don't really change the style. The GTR however has never been in the states on a large level so if you take the two on the Los Vegas strip, the GTR will surely turn more heads, the 911 will get confused by anyone that isn't a car enthusiast as any other Porsche they have seen.

Porsche is just that a Porsche. $154k with a trade or sell of $90-100k+ in 2 yrs. The GTR is a great gadget car. But w/o the gadgets it's only avg to slightly above avg in the sports car world. A bare bone Porsche 911 is still capable of near super car performance. Why do you think everybody compares there cars to Porsche. Then comes status come on Porsche turns more heads and gets more respect hands down. Reliability Porsche by a mile. I would honestly keep my 912 over the GTR.

porsche is great because its a super car but its also dependable . i once had an old 944 , i drove that car like i hated it but it never ever let me down it just kept running and running well. ferrari makes amazing cars but they spend as much time being worked as they do being driven. i know all cars have their problems but a porsche is a vw at heart , meaning they seem to be more dependable than other cars in their class. in a cross country race give me a porsche every time.

Look at Top Gear's review of the Carrera GT, and then tell me that. The GT-R is still faster, and is MUCH easier to control...much more forgiving. Granted the Carrera GT is a beautiful car (and the exhaust sound is amazing), but beauty and sound don't win races.

porsche's engineering will always suprass any italian car. gemans are born and bred to be perfectionists. they didn't design the porsche to look good like the ferarri, they designed it to perform good. but it ended up looking good anyway and hearing a good comment about porsches from jeremy is a HUGE thing, he hates porsches and will stop at nothing to make italian cars look better than Deutch Auto

i have and it was disappointing. not enough torque for me. i like that break neck off the line launch which this car doesn't have. Hell the car is slower than a CIVIC SI stock for stock. come on now. not to mention reliability issues. when your engine rev's that high (not that there is anything wrong with that) the parts on your car wear that much quicker and when your putting in some ford parts on top of that...well you know. people want cars that have better reliability.

Well first off. About mazda. They make ALL thier own cars, granted it is true they share some parts with ford but their unibodies are all original mazda. Ford actually adopts mazda bodies for thier cars in europe(well some like the new fiesta and ka based on the mazda 2 which is a small car much like the fit over seas). The Focus is entierly Ford and the 6 is actually the ford fusion not the tarus. Ford would do well to start using more of mazdas stuff in their cars.

Yea i would never trade in my STI for an rx-8. However, they are a great car to consider because of their relatively low price. i just don't like the torque. the high revs and handling is a plus.

sorry they do. it may not be the important parts like engine internals but hoses, lines, and other minor items do come from ford. Ask any dealership in america. do you really think that as good as the mazdaspeed series and the rx-8 are, do you really think i didn't consider buy them the last time i was in the market for my last car? my payments are done in january and the with the R3 coming out i'm definitely checking that out. don't let your pride cloud your judgment.

As for the reliability issues, it's true. ever since they started to use ford parts it seemed like mazdas reliability rating has been on a slow decline. they do make exceptional cars like the mazdaspeed 3 & 6. but that's about it. before the mazdaspeeds came out the only true contender was the rx-7.

I was not referring to a video game. My point is a matter of weight distribution. Certain engine drive train layouts are better in a corner than others. So yes I was talking about physics. The Porsche's devotion to the rear engine rear wheel drive concept makes them difficult to control compared to other power train layouts. This is of course a generalization. The Viper needs about as much wing to be stable in the corners, then again the Viper has less tech to help it.

Among car lingo, the presence of a clutch (the actual device, NOT the pedal) determines manualness or not, as opposed to the presence of a torque converter (which makes it an auto). There are torque converter based drag cars you shift manually, and clutch based cars that shift automatically. It's a stupid designation, I agree, but we all agreed upon it a long time ago and now it's just useful to get on the same page.

I've just played it in an emulator in my PC and managed to land the plane, I couldn't fucking believe it, it's hard at first but once you get the hang of it is easy, and I can't believe I've successfully refueled in the first attempt, maybe I was just lucky.
