I saw him in Tulsa,Ok, back in-I guess it might've been the 80's(?)at the Cain's Ballroom. Tickets were $11. The show was supposed to start @8:00, but there was some kind of screwup(this was during his'50 states in 50 dates'tour, and maybe they got lost; they were driving themselves in what looked like a white bread truck) and they didn't get onstage till maybe 10:00.Once they started,they charged right into it, and were still going when I left, somewhat deafened, at 5:00 the next morning.

I know it's just a matter of opinion but you are WRONG. Elvis he ain't and he's the first to admit it. But his voice has an unusual edge that that can be plaintive, aggressive, sexual, irreverent or whatever the song needs it to be. You have no doubt what the song is about when George sings it.
