If you are going to compare Joshua Redman to someone before him you could name many of the greats whom he was influenced by (Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, Ben Webster, Wayne Shorter). Those are the people that Redman can be compared to because you can hear all of their playing in what he does. Eddie Harris is a good player, but we are talking about the best of the best here. In that sense, Eddie Harris does NOT compare at all.

yeah i remember when silverchair was a "generic grunge" band. that's when they were fun to listen to. they suck now really bad and there music is painful to listen too. I can't believe this is even a debate, the new Silverchair stuff is so much more creative and adventurous than frogstomp/freakshow. Which was generic grunge, I liked that stuff but grew out of it when I was about 17. You should admire that have the guts to risk alienating their fans in in pursuit of making music that is challenging and just as impressive.

Sure would also explain Daniels intricate/ornate thinking and style of writing if he were to be transgender. And this album is so apart from their earlier works its almost a different entity.
