I saw it too, without realizing he was going to be on. What a treat! I first heard of him as Coalhouse Walker, Jr. in the original production of "Ragtime," but I haven't really followed him. That's changing now. He totally tore me up with "This Is the Moment" on the 4th, singing it to the Olympians. I cried like a baby! They were visibly inspired and thrilled! I saw this fabulous singer on PBS last night on the "Capitol Fourth" singing "This is the Moment" and he was truly awesome, his voice is beautiful and they stated he has won many awards. Shame on me that I had never heard of him but I am going to change my unknowing to knowing right now. His rendition of "Laura" is beautiful too so thanks for posting it.
