Jesus, I know I'm old by the fact that most of the people who have posted about this song don't know anything about it. It's simply about a mindless, violent attack on an individual on his way home. There is no element of race. Only a white person in the UK would go home with a "take away curry". It's a song about pointlessness..... That kind of motiveless violence against a stranger seems almost unique to northern Europe or descendants thereof.

Bought this in 79 age 12 on vinyl and still play the arse off it on my mp3 player in my shiny company car at full blast. The best angry song ever and personifies the jam in their prime.
