I read a questionaire in a forum once...I remember him saying and have watched that: the right hand technique is a thumb going down (direction) the strings, and then the pointer coming back up (direction,) he uses some tapping in the mix, and also! He has a broad knowledge of chords being that he started young as a pianist (he plays keys on his albums)...arpeggios are picking each note of a chord consecutively in one direction...(in my brief explanation...)ha ha.

I really hope that's a typo meaning "anyone could play this with a good teacher and after years of studying guitar theory" because as a guitarist for 6 years I can tell you that neither I nor any of the 500 guitarists (whether they play as a hobby or in a professional) I've met and known could do that.
