You and your milk. Posted by: igbatious
Video duration: 180 seconds Global video hits: 24388 Sort of a disturbing video about milk. The use of rBST, or rBGH, was banned in both Europe and Canada. Dairy producers in the United States continue its use, and most likely is in the milk you drink everyday. Excerpt from "The Corporation." Not necessarily: Hybrid means they have crossbred 2 kinds of tomatoes. The 2 kinds could have been natural or genetically modified. The chance that at least one of the kinds was modified is quite high though, since most of the tomatoes are genetically modified nowadays. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. GM food is often healthier than natural food.

At this point, I don't think it's logical to really argue for or against genetic engineering because we don't have substantial LONG-TERM studies. And whether or not it caused health problems in the case of L-tryptophan does not necessarily mean it's harmful in ALL cases. We really need to conduct some long-term studies before we put too much effort into arguing for or against it.

Seeds of Deception - what an appropriate title.

"PEER reviewed". And, since you're arguing with the evidence in the video, you need to actually SITE your evidence if you want it taken seriously.
By: clydesight. on 23 Nov 08, 20:10:16
I agree with this video, we need to monitor and check what is being done "for us". Check out soy oil, that's a revelation, and it is in so many processed foods! Remember, the bottom line is the money, not the health.

lol "trust my government" well I'm not American... so no I don't trust the US government, however I do trust the pier reviewed papers stating GM foods are safe! Stating facts like GM food causes mutations is not only contradictory to the papers but in fact SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE.. so in response, yes I have done my homework and I have done some reading, I can assume you havent since the average reading age in the US is 9yo.. but I wont hold that against you :)
By: mothball667. on 23 Nov 08, 07:08:01
sure of course the FDA is in fact evil and are not doing what there supposed to be doing etc etc... lefty conspiracy rubbish... the fact still stands that ALL SCIENTIFIC DATA SO FAR SAYS GM FOODS ARE SAFE AND PRESENT NO ENVIROMENTAL DANGER. not one pier reviewed paper says otherwise. sorry but the left greenies are reponsible for millions of deaths through the banning of DDT and lobbying african governments saying GM foods are dangerous.

Way to important to have this few hits. I myself do eat biological food where I can. It's the biggest luxury one can acquire these days. Very nice speech, Mr. Smith is doing a great job. Freedom & Peace

Who is this man?
By: gik130. on 18 Nov 08, 19:36:29
I totally agree with you! I may not be an expert on GMOs, but I'm still completely against the idea of manipulating genes that were formed perfectly by the billions of years of evolution. All GMOs are good for is profit. People are messing around with science a bit too much, regardless if it's beneficial or not, maybe we're altering evolution, who knows.
By: mothball667. on 17 Nov 08, 13:35:14
rubbish! the science says otherwise, in america gm foods are regulated by the FDA so what this really is about is the greenies being agens't the government and there rediculus conspiracy bull.

Continued: Correction for my last post. I meant to say "I will not pretend to hold the truth..." not "I'm" Also, it's not that there isn't enough food for all the people on earth to survive and that's why there is world hunger. There IS enough food in the world today for every man, woman and child. It's the poverty and lack of access to food that are to blame for world hunger and malnutrition.
By: tink037. on 09 Nov 08, 21:12:43
If they really cared about curing world hunger they wouldn't create sterile or "terminator" seeds, rendering plants unable to produce seeds, like they do in nature. I'm will not pretend to hold the truth about GM food. I don't know if it is good or bad for the human body. It is bad, however, for humanity. My point is I am not going to support exploitative and imperialistic companies like Monsanto or Dupont that want a monopoly on the world's food supply. That's why I'm against GMOs.
By: Nederluv. on 09 Nov 08, 00:31:56
Well if that's the case then the science behind genetically modified food is wrongfully used by Monsanto, but that doesn't mean genetically modified crops are bad. GM food do give us the possibility to put an end to world hunger and the use of pesticides, while having better nutritional value. As long as it is in the hands of the right people. Just like you can use a knife to prepare food or to stab someone to death with it.
By: tink037. on 08 Nov 08, 23:51:35
Continued: From what I have learned so far, I would say they are murderers. They will sell you anything that will make a profit. Therefore I would be a fool to trust them when they say GM foods are superior to natural food. What they want is a monopoly on the world's food supply. That is scary and dangerous. I would never support such a company or their research.
By: tink037. on 08 Nov 08, 23:48:27
They sell genetically modified STERILE seeds to farmers to make sure that they have no choice but to keep buying their seed. If they find seed stock on the growers property, that farmer can be sued. They let PCBs pollute Anniston, Alabama. They knew for decades that this was a toxic chemical and were instructed to destroy incriminating documents after they were read. They didnt want to lose one dollar of business. Men, women and children died. They are also responsible for Agent Orange.
By: Nederluv. on 08 Nov 08, 11:35:21
I know that they sell genetically modified (read: improved) seeds/crops.
By: tink037. on 07 Nov 08, 19:52:39
Do you know anything about the company called Monsanto?
By: fillmorejon24. on 06 Nov 08, 21:54:42
great videos, does anybody know what year this presentation took place?
By: gik130. on 05 Nov 08, 17:46:26
GM crops cannot germinate! They tell us GM foods will cure world hunger, but what these profit seeking psychos completely disregard is that GM material can be transfered from these plants to non-GM plants, thus altering their genes so they cannot germinate. If this material gets to every crop worldwide, they will ALL stop germinating creating a pandemic of starvation! People have got to start thinking! Genetic engineering is one of the most biggest, man-made cataclysms EVER! Wake up world!
By: gik130. on 04 Nov 08, 18:23:03
It's illegal to label genetically altered foods, because people won't buy them else. People fail to notice their true place in the Universe and the perfection of the billions of years of evolution, and instead they devote their lives to a meaningless, illogical and unnatural system where Profit overcomes Health! IT MAKES ME SICK AND FURIOUS!

just eat ur veggies... FULL STOP!!!

Those would be biased ;) Pubmed would be a place where you can find reliable results, it's used by most (medical) scientists to find references. GM food CAN be less healthy if you add a gene which creates a toxic protein, but doing such a thing makes no sense. Then again, even some natural fruits have proteins which are toxic. So far scientists have only added genes which improve our food, by making it more resistant to pests or by improving it's ingredients (golden rice & purple tomatoes).
