where did you hear about a 7:15 GT2 lap time? When Porsche tested it with stock everything, it did a 7:34. I'm not saying that the Carrera GT is worse, than the ZR1, just a little slower... I'd have the Carrera GT instead of the ZR1, because it was engineered better in general, I think.

The EVO 800 is fully street legal. The ZR1 seems to have 638hp and not 628hp as I said. At Nürburgring the ZR1 did a 7:26, the GT a 7:28 but with way less torque due to no charger. So it's the better car when taking it down to the car only. And the GT2 which has a turbo but only 542hp did it in 7:15. Also a statement I think. The EVO 800 was not there yet I guess but calculating on the GT2 time the Evo should do it easily under 7 minutes.

Yes, but this ZR1 Corvette with its LS9 engine is a very limited line. It has 807Nm and 628hp. The 997 GTR EVO 800 R has 950Nm and 800hp out of just 3.6L and 6 cylinders. And on track it would make the gap even bigger. The 980 (Carrera GT) is still faster on tracks because GT and Enzo are simply the better cars. I also think that the GT 40 from Ford has a good chance to beat or keep up with the LS9 powered ZR1.

Hi Sensinyou, the 917 engine is related to the 911 engine sort of once removed. Forerunner to the 917 was the 908/909 series which used a flat 8. It was effectively an extended 911 in magneseum. The 917 was a new block design with a 2 piece crank. In original 4.5 ltr from it also used the 911 piston/rod. Once the 917 engine had been expanded to 4.9/ 5.0 ltr there was no physical link to the 911 The lineage in design is still there. The flat 6 engine then returned in the 936, 956 & 962

No, you're wrong! A boxer engine has a crankshaft with 1 exclusive crankpin for every con rod. The crankpins of 2 opposed pistons are shifted by 180 degrees, this means, the 2 pistons move in opposite directions - the 911 has such an engine. In a flat 12 engine like in the 917 or in all Ferrari "Boxers", including the Testarossa (in fact, these Ferrari engines aren't boxers!), 2 opposing pistons share THE SAME crankpin, just like in every V-engine - both pistons move into the same direction.

This freaken monster against stock M5 :) Not interesting. Veyron does everything better than any other car, including 9FF. If Gt9 is made to accelerate above 200km/h it means that no one man ever who has some brains in his head will ever buy this car. It is just useless, where, excluding some German Autobahns you can accelerate above 280km/h? + To my mind this is one of the worst sounding supercars ever built.

I would need it ;o) Once I raced with a BMW M5. I was driving a 9ff-GT2 with 670HP. And it gets interesting when the BMW goes to the right line at 240kmph and you step on the gas and overtake him like he is standing still. Also it is no problem to get such a car up to 300 on usual Autobahn in Germany. Because it takes not such a long time to get there.

Clearly nothing wrong with the handling, so the engine fits just fine in the back. I would have liked it better if it had more of a GT look to it, though. Of course you can customize it. If you can afford this car, you can afford to invest in it as well.

If I head the money to Buy an exotic like a Lambo, Ferrari, Audi, Porsche, or BMW, all high end models. I think I would go with a Porsche 911 turbo with AWD. Why? it is fast, not the fastest but fast enough, and overall it is PRACTICAL! The 911 Turbo has the old porsche look that is timeless. the 430 is sweet to, but to much BS to deal with.

They always calculate it so that it will be close at the end. They never use a car that'll win easily, or give the challenger something that will make it simple for them either. Kind of like those show races where you have a regular car, a supercar and then like an F1 car in staggered starts and they end within seconds of each other.

they made it so f1's car can't go over 200 mph with some limiting program 'cuz it is too fast. even though now F1's can't go over 200 mph, it is extremely aerodynamic and can corner at speeds 2x faster than a buggati veyron. and it will accelerate out of corners faster due to it's extremely light weight and extremely high grip to the road. even the superbikes in motoGP can't corner as fast as F1's can. nothing can compare to F1's. F1's are built to be the ultimate racing car.

F1 cars are extremely light, like 10x lighter than a buggati veyron and are extremely aerodynmaic, more aerodynamic than a freaking airplane. companies invest 200 million dollars alone in a single F1 car, and they're built to corner at maximum speed and accelerate at maximum speeds. you can't compare a buggati to a F1. they even banned force induction and limited the F1's max speed to not go over mph a few years ago, 'cuz it's too fast.

Magnificent driving by a legend in one of the greatest race machines in history. Smooth as a babies bum without pushing too hard. Would have been nice if they kept more engine note for the vid but one of the greatest in car vids i've seen. Lot of practice laps to get the balls up to hold pace for those blind ones. Phenomenal driving...6-1/2 min lap with weight onboard and not pushing.
