First off ppl no need to diss Nirvana, AIC and nirvana are equally good they sing about different things, Kurt didn't just kill himself because of addiction he didnt enjoy the music anymore, he said hearing all those fans before shows it didnt give him the rush. Nirvana is no where near Alice In Chains! I mean its cool if you don't like the band n' all but my personal opinion is AIC had more diversity, a better singer, better musicianship etc. Then again they're two completely different bands. Nirvana has a punk influence and AIC has a heavy metal/blues influence.

Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley were both light years ahead of Kurt in their respective instruments. and lyrically, wise, you cant even compare them, Nirvanas lyrics were full of teen angst while Alice in Chains wrote about something real, something they knew about all too well and struggled with; drug addiction. And another thing, unlike Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley actually onfronted his problems and lived with them, which even god knew were 10x worse than Kurts.
