Sorry was out of town No scientist is ever trying to implement a theory that has philosophical baggage they are just trying to explain how the world works. But is it important that person x believes in God when they support the theory that the Earth revoloves around the Sun? I think that scientifically it matters quite a bit whether one believes in God or not, especially when one makes a theory with philosophical baggage attached to it. Another question: if you were standing next to a freeway and saw a car pass you going east, is it logical to assume that it started as far west as possible and was traveling the same speed the whole way?

I am not "hiding" behind the millions of year argument we have strong evidence that the earth is 4.5 billion years old and life began around 3.5 billion years ago. As for "the Hovind theory" it is an actually attempt at science that ignore the vast majority of the evidence and as I said in the prior post seen it...what part did you find most convincing?

Let me ask you a question... Do you believe in God? It's a reasonable question. One thing I personally can't stand is the whole hiding away of things in millions of years. Honestly, it's a bit like attributing basic natural phenomena to God - there's no testing it. It may be true though. "The Hovind theory" is actually science. He doesn't do as many personal jabs and there's a whole heck of a lot more science. He truly has a good theory. And since I watched your video it's now your turn...

The making of this movie is a great thing. When there is much material produced by both sides it will be easy to compare the the honesty in the way the other side is treated both one other. For example, I have seen some of Dawkin's doco's where he has let creationists go on and on, essentially digging their own grave. From what I have seen from this film it is 99% his commentary supported by one sentence/half sentence snippets of the opposition. Let's have them make as many films as they want.

Funny how we can comprehend a few thousand years and not millions when we are supposedly an ancient being.... I finally found a scientific version of creation science. Type in "the Hovind Theory" to learn more about it. You don't have to, but it does give a great explanation of certain phenomena we see in nature, such as petrified trees that have grown through millions of years of rock layers.

I am a geologist trust me I know how we date rocks 1) You get a relative date on the rock based on the rock that is around it 2) You get a more exact relative date by looking to find index fossils within the rock these fossils are specific to a certian time period and rapidly change as time progresses a good index fossil is plankton. 3) More exact dates are possible by radiometric dating of any igneous rocks nearby or by radiometric dating certian fossils within.

Nope the dating methods confirm eachother...index fossils are used to determine the geologic "age" this would be like Jurassic Period. The age of the fossils is determined by radiometric dating. These ages are again verified by radiometric dating of other types of rocks that can be dated, aka igneous rocks. Neither is 100% concrete you are right but as we have discussed nothing in science is 100% accurate but these dates more or less confirm eachother if you can prove them wrong please do so

Not true about the DNA...while they may use different markers the general idea is the same. We can use DNA to determine the difference between humans and chimps you can't deny that. As for the midget it has been comically refered to as a hobit man and there is a lot of contrevesy surrounding if it is a different species or still a human but I will let the people investigating it decide that. The reasoning is circular: the rock layer determines the age of the fossil, then the fossil determines the age of the rock layer. If they have one, and not the other, they do this to prove the age. Both ways! How is this not circular? Neither is concrete. They have to use each other to determine the age. For your ape to human example - that is totally bogus. You know it. You assume a conclusion to perceive the observation.

The DNA that convicts murderers goes through a different process. They have his DNA, so they can match it. With neandertals, they are looking for something similar to humans, but a little different. If you unearthed those you could make those conclusions yes, however, we have not discovered those so you cannot. You know what else fossils tell us they tell us that something lived and when we find multiple versions of the same animal spaning years then we can conclude that they were reproducing etc. As for the dating properly as I pointed out earlier in our discussion we can date them properly...the reasoning isn't circular but the dating methods confirm eachother.

This song was so hot. A complete departure from Kiss The Rain (which may have been what stopped her from becoming bigger). I've been told that Anson is now gigging regularly again in Dallas with a new singer. As I'm in London, this isn't a great deal of use to me! With regard to Anson's influences, the main one that has been left out is early (ie 50s) B.B.King - probably even more of an influence than Freddie, Albert etc.
