Wrong. People believe that NASA can probably develope aircrafts that travel to pluto (using nuclear propulsion) in a decade. There is no means of transportation for humans to travel anywhere beyond the Moon. Truth is we've only sent out probes. (the one that reached Pluto took around 2 decades) Also, I said a "lifetime" because people are adapted for living on Earth. Not space. It would take a lifetime or more for people to adapt, let alone figure out how to sustain life in space.

The moon rotates at the same rate as it orbits (synchronous rotation) and we always see the same side of the moon. And it rotate/orbits in 29 days, that's have nothing to do with a entire year for earth.

And yes, life probably doesn't have a reason to be, there is no great architect and after we die we come back to the state before we where born, we simply cease to exist. But deep down, we know that we don't really know, deep down we hope that there is something behind the stars, that there is something else to life then this, if not, what point is it to live ? to work our entire lives in jobs we hate to buy stuff we don't really need.

I agree with you being an atheist myself, and although I believe in the possibility of intelligent life in other planets I don't think we will ever have any kind of contact with anyone. The universe is just too big and the laws of physics just too restrictive (matter expands to infinity as we approach speed of life, so we are confined to a certain degree of proximity of our home planet among other things).

It happended by chance that a few atoms (or unidentified, unexplainable mush) arranged themselves in a way that resulted in the idea of mathematics and other concepts. I don't like the way people try to find the "Who" behind things. Which leads us to the belief of God. I don't mean to persuade, but you have to consider that things might not have come from a who, but from chance.
