i can't believe i get it. at least i think i do. the last scence of the movie gave it away. he told himself to look for john G. who was teddy. teddy wasn't even the killer but he made his own self believe that he was the killer. so therefore sammy jenkis was not real, he just made himself believe that he was real. he was really sammy jenkis. he made himself go on a wild goose chase to make himself find the killer of his wife. he didn't want to remember the truth. he was the one who killed her.

Anyway I´ve tried to watch it seven times and after 15 minutes it was all just a blur. not interesting at all, the same scene all over again... i mean wtf? Have you seen film Stay? Now that´s something else, it´s similar to this one but hell of a lot more interesting (in the sense that you don´t fall asleep while watching)

I agree. It's the best serial killers films EVER made. Not bllod and gore, but true psychological meaning. I own it on dvd, and to this day each times I see it, it seems new. Always something I may have missed the lastime I watched it springs out. Kevin Spacey is marvellous, as are Morgan and Brad!

Another was when he was talking about Sammy Jenkis in a different scene not in here. A doctor walks by and there is a flash of Lenny sitting in the chair rather than Sammy Jenkis. And another one is when you think he's pinching his wife there is a scene where you see a flash of him with an insulin needle in his hand. He injected her rather than pinched her. So it's all a matter of figuring out that he does this to make him happy. He is the one who killed his wife.

Lenny is the person who killed his wife. He made up Sammy Jenkis in order to convince himself he wasn't the real killer. She was a diabetic and he was the one who injected her with insulin so much that she died. There are many clips of subliminal messaging. Some of them include how Lenny wrote down "SG13 71U" instead of "SG13 7IU" in order confuse himself to make him happy.

he already got the right guy. You have to analyze it into its key details and symbolism. Teddy only lied to lenny when didnt look him in the eye. His wife survived and lenny had made new memories. He mixed them with the Sammy Jankins case. Sammy never had a wife,it was all lenny and his wife. he co-existed his life with his and created the case for his own hapiness. Ex. the hapiness of when he killed the rapists #2, in the photo.

i think you can never really know if he got the right guy, nothing is really clear in the movie since teddy lies to him all the time, even he lies to himself, so how can we know whats really the truth(from stuff that happen before he kills jimmy) even he memories from before the incident are distordedhe remembers one thing but then tells him something else and he get glimpses of something different... that's wwhy is so great, so ask those questions yourself and arrive at your own conclusion...

If you dig this movie, it is definitely worth it to buy the limited edition. There is an "easter egg" where you can watch it chronologically. I just watched it. (It doesn't let you rewind however, and it is hard to find the easter egg (google it)) Anyway, post a reply to this comment: Was Teddy the "John G." he's been looking for all this time? Is his wife still alive? I also missed it, but he has a tattoo that says, "SHE IS GONE..." But I couldn't see what else that specific tattoo says.

Even in the commentary of this film, the director didn't admit as to how everything happened. Remember, everyone lies to Lenny. Everyone. So there's no real truth. The audience is treated the same way Lenny is treated: with deception. It's anyone's guess as to how it happened.

ok, i Don't get the tattoo "I've done it". He is in bed with his wife right? And you can see that he already has the "john G raped and murdered my wife" tattoo. How can he have such a tattoo when his wife is right next to him? And Sammy Jankis was he a real person? I know Lenny is reflecting his condition on him. Is it so that when he remembers Sammy injecting the needle into his wifes arm, actually Lenny is injecting it in HIS wifes arm? And so eventually she dies off an overdose?

It's not necessarily his fantasy, but we know it isn't a real image. He has the "John G raped and murdered my wife" tattoo (a little blurry, but visible at 1:56), even though his wife is clearly alive. His "I've done it" tattoo is in the (now) blank spot on his chest he said he'd reserve for the day he killed John G. I prefer to think of it more as his subconscious trying to tell him the truth he's rejected: that he is the one responsible for his wife's death (a double meaning for the tattoo)

Para lo buena que es está película, creo que es de las más desconocidas. Yo diría que es de las mejores que he visto.
La verdad, me sorprende como es que nunca oí hablar de ella.

I just love it. love the shy way we two are together. I love the song already, but this video did some magic! Whenever I am feeling down, this video always brought me sweetness, like the texture of summertime, singing favorite songs with love ones. Good job, man. Looking forward to hearing more.
