i dunno what my diagnosis is anymore, ive been on anti depressants for nearly 8 years continuous, im now off anti depressants but on an anti psychotic to help with my mood swings and my low moods i get, i can go from being really happy to so low that i wana die in the space of a few hours, sometimes days. Everyone thought just had a massive drink problem as I did. Drinking stops you thinking. you are sllf medicating with alcohol and that is dangerous. alcohol is a depressant and will exaggerate your depression. its a short term fix to a long standing problem. I am on the verge of loosing my car, house and girlfriend but I feel 100% better than I did 2 months ago because I am now being treated for depression.

I felt so bad but I didnt know I was suffering from depression until I took an overdose 6 weeks ago and then was diagnosed with deppression. If a serotonin re uptake inhibitor doesn't work, try a dopamine re uptake inhibitor. I took pristiq ,which is for serotonin, for 3 months and it did no good. Then i switched to wellbutran XL, for dopamine, and in just 8 days i was feeling a ton better! Jus depends on what your problem is. And no it can't be cured, its in your genetics, it can be controlled.

Today I met a Chinese girl who works 12 hrs/day, 7 days a week at a Chinese restaurant so she can send $ back to her family in China. She told me this. It got me thinking. I know so many people who have tried telling me that I have nothing to be depressed about and to just get over it and all that does is make me feel worse than ever. There are plenty of studies out there that have proven that depression is a serious medical conditionand even without suicide lasting depression can still lead to death if untreated

No, a recession lasting longer than two quarters is still just a recession. Any decline where the GDP decreases more than 10% is a depression. Happy birthstar day, Datta! When I was depressed, I found that my best "cure" was to do seva and to help others. The more I served, the more happy I got and while I did seva, I forgot about all my issues... the depression was non-existent! What also helped me was yoga, being in nature, singing bhajans, being in Your presence and being in front of Hindu and Buddhist statues/deities. Thanks for giving me the tools to lift me out of the depression state!

My great-grandparents never used the skins either. Remember that during the Great Depression, not many folks were aware of (or cared about) vitamins and fiber. Filling the belly was what counted, and scraps like potato skins were still used--but to feed animals.
