that's like saying an alchoholic can't relate to a pill popper. addict's are addicts, and trauma victims are trauma victims. while the song does specifically mention cutting as a means of coping, the underlying issues are the sense of selves in these people. Someone may feel the exact way you do, except their choice of self destruction may be drinking, or drugs, or eating disorders, etc. Feelings are the same, the only thing that differs is your reaction to them.

I hate it when people make songs like this. Not everyone had this reason for cutting. I never felt sad or anything, I was angry whenever I did it. Not everyone feels numb. Not everyone does it to feel "alive". It is a beautiful song, and I'm sure that a lot of people have that as a reason, but I think this kind of thing kind of gives people the wrong idea. Das erste Lied was ich von denen gehört hab und seitdem mein Lieblingssong ( ungefähr eine Woche her seitdem ich ihn das erste mal gehört hab )... Mal sehen wie lange das anhält aber ich find den Song einfach unglaublich gut.
