This is silly. It may work, but it's probably not the most effective way to train your abs. High reps are not as useful for building strength as using lower reps with weights or isometric holds. And there is a whole body of literature supporting that. More effective would probably 10 crunches with max contraction for 5 secs, plank hold for time, lying hip swings with a medicine ball. Do them in a circuit x3 or 4 times. That will be more effective in bringing the necessary pain.

In order to get a full ab workout you have to workout your upper abs, obliques, and lower abs. *UPPER ABS* - 2 sets of 60 crunches *OBLIQUES* - 2 sets of 50 side plank obliques *LOWER ABS* - 2 sets of 60 reverse crunches Do all these excercises in one session every other day.(25 to 30 minute sessions) Eat a healthy diet with as little saturated fat as possible. If the excercises are too easy (which they will be eventually) do not increase reps, instead at an additional set per workout.

no offence but this is because they are weak...make sure u stretch ur abs first and use correct form... they are shaking because they are weak but will get stronger.

When someone takes their back all the way off the ground, the hip flexors become activiated and the abs are no longer activated past a 30 degree angle. This is why the old sit-up is no longer considered valid.

Yes, that sounds very similar to a reverse crunch. I did something like this in martial arts. The most important part of getting good abdominals is to lower your fat intake. ;)

thanks for that. ive started doing workouts where i lay on my back and i hold the couch behind my head. i then lift my legs high in the air then push them straight out and slowly down. i repeat this a few times. would u know if thats any good for lower abs? :)

Try not to lean your head forward and try to think about moving your shoulders to your knees, if you lean your head back a little and focus on moving your shoulders tends to help me a lot.
