I don't give a fuck whether Mehldau or Svensson did whatever first. They've both wrote and performed great, and interesting music. Why do we have to compare... who cares who did it first? Both are great at the counterpoint stuff, but don't really do it in the same way, because they're not the same person. When I listen to Mehldau, he's the best in my world, and when i listen to Svennson, he is. Enjoy MUSIC.

I'm sorry, but that's complete rubbish. Svensson was playing counterpoint like this (Bach was one of his heroes) long before Mehldau was around. Please study Svensson's biography a little better. His style developed long before Mehldau.

I believe his contribution lies on the subtle,lyrical aspects of his playing,which is uniquely beautiful. He should have left this kind of playing portraited in the video for Brad Mehldau, the creator of this left hand dimensional style. No need to mirror Brad Mehldau. Svensson had his own voice. He should have trusted himself more instead of trying to copy Mehldau.

when i listened to this track for the 1st time, it created a new different way of listening to jazz to me, as if he brought a 3rd dimension to a 2 dimensional music.completely amazing harmony.I kept humming this piece for the whole day :).it was one of the best moments in my life.
