you will. erm basically dynamics are more of a live mic and condensers are more comonly used in the studio, but they can be used live. condensers need what you call phantom power if you know about that. and a rifle mic is a type of condenser, if you've seen the long mics they put on sticks to use with tv cameras, they are rifle mics but you can still get different types - ones that will be better for different things.

oh right i get you, if your mic is a rifle mic (type of condenser) thenyou would probably be alright with just one - depending on how loud and close the crowd is. if you have dynamic mics then you will definatly need 2. and most places usualy have there own equipment anyway. and i'm in your position with the guitar, its abit unfortunate really.

well.. don't know if you're familiar with Open Mic Nights? It's done alot in places like Irish Pubs and whatsoever, and it allows enthousiastic fellas who want to bring something into the world to come and sing/play whatever you want, live and free on stage. So, when I arrive, is it a must there are two mics (one for the voice and one for the guitar), or could i be doing well with just one? Cause if it's open mic in a bar I have like nothing to say about the ways of recording... ay?

basic setup of a recording is, apropriate instruments miced up and through either a DAC (digital to analogue converter) or a mixer - if you use a mixing desk then it must have what we call direct outs. then you conect the direct outs to a dac, makes it sound alot better. now conect whatever method you are using to a computer with some multi-track recording software. and there you have yourself a home recording studio. But i'm not quite sure what you were saying in the last bit. hope i helped!

I'm having you comparing damien and david gray as both are great singer songwriters. James Blunt and jack johnson are just glorified pop acts, and rufus wainwright is just awful who writes songs about reading mens fashion magazines (Im sorry but it just doesnt realate to me) and also torchered hallelujah.

they are no where near as good as Damien, jack johnson is way to cheesy and corny and doesnt have string arrangements(to my knowledge) and David Gray is just way below this, James blunt and Rufus wainwright are quite similar but still not as good in my opinion

I love these guys here. I met them through scofield's a go go and then i immediatly bought out louder which is a fantastic piece of art. On the other hand i got a bit dissapoited with the trio albuns. They tend to jam too much for me. I was looking for some stronger jazzish melodies that i can't found on their songs. Don't get me wrong. I really love them and their great musicians. But i definitely prefer their work with scofield.

I will try this tomorrow. Is looks easy to make and must impress my mother in law. I recently got married and have not really cooked before. With full time job, I luv quick recipes which is not too time consuming and also easy to make as I am a total newbie. It worked!! Thanks so much. FYI, if you ever have other Canadian inquiries, I used medium coconut and shred it further with the food processor. I used a 300 mL can of condensed milk that worked perfectly. I also dipped some of them in chocolate afterwards!! Perfection!

Here in the US (in Indian grocery stores) shredded coconut is available in two varieties - a coarse shred and a fine shred (coconut powder). We use the fine shred variety. The coconut is dessicated, not coconut milk powder. Probably 1.5 cans (450 ml) might be too much for 4 cups of coconut - try using 1 and 1/3rd cans of condensed milk. Good luck!

Okay ... I've tried this twice now. The first time I used shredded coconut and it didn't seem to absorb the milk. When it cooled, it was very mushy. The second time, I went to an Indian grocer and the lady told me 'coconut powder' is the same as coconut milk powder. Again, it was so mushy I couldn't even attempt to cool it. I can't find a 14 oz can of condensed milk either ... I have to use 1.5 cans (I'm in canada so one can is 300 mL ... a little over a cup). HELP!

If you are looking for authentic indian coconut burfi search for recipes that don't use condensed milk and dry coconut flakes and that don't refrigerate the burfis. This video is a totally non-indian short-cut way of making burfi. The original version requires fresh coconut, sugar and ghee (clarified butter) and a bit of cooking experience to get the mixture to the right consistency and form.

Put the burfi on the bottom for about an hour. If you don't have that much time, you could place it in the freezer for just a shorter time...don't leave it in too long because it will be hard to cut.
