first of all, i love the challenger, its absolutely the sexiest car in production right now....but the camaro ss would definately win, hands down...the challenger's biggest attraction is also its biggest problem...its weight...it is a coupe, but weighs well over 4000lbs, while the camaro has the same power and torque while weighing over 700lbs less and handles like a corvette to add to defeat...that being said, i still love the challenger, Chrysler did it right for a change!! lol

well, it's ur decision, but i don't think u'll be too happy with that decision...its a great car dont get me wrong, i love it...its just that if ur a speed junky like me, u'll be happy for maybe the first 2-3 months...but after that, the weight of the car will limit ur satisfaction...i think the camaro will be a better fit...same power, much much lighter car, room for more than 2 people, and unlimited potential for upgrades as well as corvette-level handling

Camaro has almost always had more horsepower and in stock form been faster than Mustangs. But up until Camaro's demise the Mustang outsold the Camaro and Firebird combined 2:1. I'm a gearhead so I like them all, on that note my personal car is a Shelby GT500.

i own an 08 challenger and just let me tell you it is the sickest car ever. in a street race the challenger blew the doors off a new corvette with ease. its got electric cutouts on it and is in the shop getting a super charger installed that will give it over 700 horsepower... now thats pure muscle. also the car will go over 300 km/h and it still handles nicely at this speed. The challenger comes in 3 models, the SE which comes with a 3.5L v6 250hp msrp is 22,000 and up, then the R/T which comes with a 5.7L v8 Hemi and the msrp starts at 29,000 on those, and then you have the SRT8 which comes with the 6.1L v8 Hemi msrp of about 42,000, all are available with a 6 speed manual, or a 4 speed auto, i just got back from the dealership because im getting one WOOOO! I saw this live on TV in school when I was 9. They wheeled in TV's to all the classrooms so we could watch it. I just remember when it exploded I thought to myself "That looks weird... The shuttle must've gone so fast we can't see it anymore... Weird...". I just got done listening to an old tape of CBS Radio coverage from that day. The reporter says that from where those people stood, all you saw was a little spark which could have appeared to be part of it. You can hear the people going quiet about 3-5 seconds later, probably as they see the crazy looking contrails. For the record, the CBS reporter on the scene was very quiet and controlled to do his job, although his voice sounds tight as if trying not to cry.

They did cheer, but only because they had no clue what had happened. Remember your seeing it from a zoomed in video camera with auto focus and brightness fixes applied for the shuttle launch. These people were looking at something from far away and while looking into the sun. This question was asked by one of the reporters in one of the videos I saw to which the man replied that it was the younger ones in the crowd that kind of cheered. After about 2 seconds everything went serious.

The real tragedy of this I learned when I was in high school was that the astronauts actually survived the initial explosion. They died when the cabin of the shuttle made impact with the Atlantic Ocean. I can only imagine what everyone involved at NASA was going through. It is easily 1 of the most depressing and shocking things I have ever seen. I was 8 years old when I saw this unfold.

And I can still to this day remember how I and every one of my elementary school classmates were visibly shaken from seeing this footage unfold live in front of our eyes. It is one of those memories that you want to forget if you saw it unfold but you never will. It is a day that I will sadly remember until the day I die. I got a 2008 I LOVE IT!!! I think it is so worth it. It handles great it is truely an amazing car. Sadly dodge only made 6400 of 2008 models and i got 1760 out of the 6400. But the 2009 models dont have some of the same things the 2008 have and the 2009 wont have has much power but is still so worth it.

For a simple reason: Prius has a gasoline engine, therefore if you want to compare its performance with diesel engines you have to factor out the difference in density between the two fuels. In other words if you get 30mpg city in a Jetta 1.9 TDI (an equivalent car in terms of capacity, Lupo and Golf are too small for a comparison with Prius), this is equivalent with 30*0.85 = 25mpg for a gasoline engine. In comparison Prius gets 48mpg in city driving, which is almost twice as good.

If someone had been watching a bit closer, that o-ring failure would have been noticed soon enough to abort and ditch the boosters and fuel tank. I could tell it was screwed and I'm just a country bumpkin. I know if a rocket scientist had seen it he would have known something was bad wrong and could have ordered an abort. Oh and the commentator on the Challenger incident cracked me up, though the disaster isn't funny. "...obviously a major malfunction.." No kidding, the damn thing blew up.

Video is well done, but I must say in defense of NASA, this mission was delayed 18 times over the course of 2 years. EIGHTEEN! You can only delay so many times before you say, "Damn boys, we gonna build a fire in this thing and launch it, or sit here and look at it?" Two crashes in 125 flights isn't too bad considering what they do. 20,000 mph and 3000 degree heat on re-entry can't be easy on vehicles. You can't predict everthing. Yes, there are non-Challenger clips included in the video. These anachronistic clips were likely lifted from the 1982 movie "Koyaanisqatsi" (a great, great film BTW) as the film uses the EXACT same clips (in longer forms.) No, the air temperature had nothing to do with the part degradation. The parts on the space shuttle were made of a pastic compoud designed to withstand the unguageable cold of space and fiery temperatures of reentry. The degradation of the plastic was likely caused by the severe vibrations caused by the shuttle itself adding to a hidden fault withing the plastic compound. Outside temperature had absolutely nothing to do with it although heat caused by vibration did.
