For hand pumping - I like the advent pump that is ~40 bucks. However I really hate hand pumping and would highly recommend just renting a hospital pump. They get the job so much faster than even the expensive Medela Pump in styles. I used a PIS for a while and switched to a Medela Classic hospital pump because it was just so much faster (7-8min of pumping vs 20 min).

Breast feeding a baby up to 12 months is pretty normal and healthy, but once a baby has started eating solids there is no benefits to having breast milk. I've known men from Africa, who starved their whole childhood, but goto college in the U.S. and make better grades than fluently speaking American college students. I don't have any problems with breastfeeding in general, but once the child is able to eat solid foods, they should be weened. There are no mammals in the world who breastfeed after their offspring can eat solids. It's simply a form of sustenance that's provided until the young can fend for itself. Everything after that would just be for pleasure or a sense of deep connection. I've found that women who breastfeed their children after toddler stage is reached are just lonely.

I don't know about the breast feeding. I'm not even sure about breast feeding in public. If you are in a restaurant and a woman whips out a titty suddenly, most people don't know how to react. On the one hand,people will say it is a beaiutiful and natural thing,but if you stare too long, you could be called a pervert. So I can say without a doubt that this will be my dinner this weekend for sure. Might throw some thick bacon in fold too, you can never have enough bacon. I've watched all of your videos and they are hands down the best time I've had in awhile now. You keep things simple and to the point while most grilling videos use ingredients I'd never be able to find being a good ole boy. So hat's off to you guys and keep up the good work. I've watched all your videos. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you not only for the recipes and the valuable bbq tips, but for re-creating in us the passion for simple, wholesome, old fashioned cooking that has been lost in todays shiny stainless steel kitchens run by people with solid hair. I also love your knife. I bet it has some history to it. My granddad had a similar knife made for my mom. It was made by his blacksmith friend. Its the best knife I have.

I completley agree! A woman in my area was arrested actually, for breastfeeding her baby "in public". She was in her car, and had a privacy blanket up and everything, but she was arrested for "Public Indecency" its SUCH bullshit. It's natural!

It's strange that people feel that children are better off with cow milk, treated with outdated vaccines, given ANTI~BIOTICS {think about that word} at every chance, and get sick. Breastmilk has many amazing components, a shame that much of the medical world still ignores despite proof.

Thats great! I breastfeed my daughter, but I never knew about the breast crawl, wish I had... I will definitely try it with the next baby! It is hard to get info about breastfeeding in the U.S... even my daughter's pediatrician has given me false information, that had I followed.. I probably would have lost my milk supply.

It should also be noted that IBC closely resembles eczema. I had a strange looking "mark" come up on my breast recently and my Dr. was concerned that I had IBC. This is a very aggressive form of cancer and is also very rare. If you even suspect that you have this get to your Dr. right away and get checked. Do research also on IBC, eczema, and Paget's Disease of the nipple.

Hey... my mum was diagnosed at the end of may... she has stage three and it had hit her lynth nodes... her Chemo is going well, though she suffers badly with the side effect.. stay positive, I know thats difficult in the early days... and give your mum love and cuddles, she'll need them...Make every day count... if you wanna PM me, please do, am happy to give you a first hand account of what its like to see your mum go through it..it does get easier, I promise. xxx

it is extremely important for every woman to know about IBC. being the rarest form of breast cancer, it is often neglected as a diagnosis.Recently i have done preliminary research into why IBC is caused (wether it is genetic, environmental, etc.) and it really opened up my eyes to the problems which women face. My mother doesn't have IBC but she has breast cancer and it has spread to many places in her body. She'll be on chemo the rest of her life, its tough. This is a very serious, mostly misdiagnosed disease. My beautiful sister in law is in the last stages of the disease, and was diagnosed less than a year ago. Fight, kick and scream. Make sure someone listens to you if you are having these symptoms!

My mom died june 18 2001 after being diagnosed with stage 4 IBC. She was 58. IBC victims are much more likely to die than "lump" type breast cancers. What I would recommend to anyone diagnosed with an "infection or mastitis" is to get a second opinion -quickly. It is beatable if caught early and attacked aggressively. Do not allow substandard treatment. This is life or death for you and your family, do not be afraid of hurting feelings.

My mother was diagnosed two days ago. They are waiting a week to do the PET scan and it's driving me crazy. She has been showing symptoms for over a month now and the doctors kept putting her on antibiotics or saying it was "probably post traumatic stress" (she went through chemo and radiation for a different type of breast cancer earlier this year). i am worried for my mom. it's good to read so many other people's stories, even though many of them end in death. thank you for posting this.
