unfortunately it's not real. It is brilliant. I work in special effects... practical special effects that is, worked on Sunshine, Wanted and Such. This was actally an Alien made for a tv show in the states that never saw the light of day. A collegue of mine was the silicone runner for it, he works for Nick Dudman. The skin is made of PLATSIL. There are a few pics of it actually. The eyelids move independantly, it was a beautiful model!

This is an excellent cover. I don't go so far as to say that it's better than Jackson's but it's still good. My only problem is the music video. It's fucking terrible! dude are you serious, have you heared any of satrianis stuff after surfing wit the alien? all of his solos use modal theory and applied technique, and some of his stuff from albumbs like crystal planet is outsatanding and fresh, so dont knock stuff if you havent even heard his other non pentatonic stuff

Not faster: melodic content, rhythm, composition, chords, intervals, structure, point, theme etc. He plays rock rhythms (Kenny Loggins Danger Zone) with simple solos saturated with effects. People liking him is fine but calling him "the best" or "a god" is absurd. My students music have touched people too. How can you write of people you don't know or heard? A serious guitarist with 2 years experience can easily play this music it's elementary school not even junior high.

I have nothing bad to say about Satriani's guitar playing. That said, I want to add that I don't like his music much, primarily because of the bonehead drum beat/rhythm to his songs. The control and comprehension he has of the guitar is more than enviable, I simply wouldn't make the same music were I that skilled.

Asherasator- Better as in faster? Better as in what? I seriously doubt your students are even a fraction of the musician that Satriani is. And even if they were, have they touched hundreds of thousands of people with their music? I doubt it. If you wanna turn music into a competition, Satch wins. But music isn't a competition, so don't call your students "better."

I love early Metallica, but he is notorius for mediocre solos we're all just used to them! Did you see that video with Rob Rock in the studio? He was screwing up simple stuff which was at a beginner music level & was frustrated, the band & Rob Rock were like "what the" It was ridiculous he would be better at understanding music & expressing it if he had a better teacher LOL! The guy is a millionaire he has nothing better to do than improve beyond 4th & 5th powerchords & pentatonic minor solos.
