You can't really compare Alice in Chains and Nirvana, they're almost opposites. Nirvana was a pop music sensation, they had a more universal sound to them which more people got into. Alice in Chains was much more metal than Nirvana, and there's always been a smaller number of metal fans than pop fans. Both awsome bands in my opinion I can't prefer one over the other.

This song sort of reminds me of "Still In Saigon" by The Charlie Daniels Band, which is where I first learned about the repercussions of Vietnam on the home front. It also dealt with PTSD and having flashbacks to those horrifying days and nights "in the shit". Either way, whether or not one is a fan of grunge, I think Alice In Chains did an awesome service to the veterans who fought in that nasty conflict. Also, this was one of the first songs that made me an Alice in Chains fan.

Great Band. Layne had an incredible voice. I feel bad for kids this era - 2000's. Seems like they didn't really get a great musical movement like we did in the 90's. I miss the 90's so much. Music was great, and not just the grunge. So many good bands came out.

Toss up between Rush and Max Webster..... There isn't one. I remember way back in those days when my buddies thought MW was the shit. I never got it. Then again I never liked the band Crack the Sky. Can't argue that one. That intro is what I personally consider the best in rock. Brilliant. Bassist Prakash John and drummer Whitey Glan filled out the ranks with equal aplomb. A simply awesome album which upstaged Lou Reed's ego so much that he suppressed the video of the live concert. Oh well, I still have the vinyl.
