listen mate. you can click & click & click & just keep clicking no matter what your running no ram left cpu pegged our chips just keep going. i could give you over 30 reason not to buy intel even if there faster. the process is now 27 years old enoguth said. + the only reason there faster is becuase the two core cant talk to each other at all this causes two cores to use 1 thread basicly making them own super pi & most integer benchmarks.

Clock for clock, C2s are faster than the Phenoms and Athlons out right now because of their superior architecture. Not to mention Intel is the only one with mainstream 45nm CPUs right now. Smaller die=more transitors=more power. Although seeing the marginal performance jump in the Core i7, I wouldn't be too surprised if AMD took back the title of "fastest processor" in the next, upcoming generation of CPUs.

All I care about is that my processor can perform more operations per second than your processor. It can do more work in the same time, or the same work in less time. That's what it's all about, and that's why Intel's processors beat AMD's at the moment. The architecture is not "outdated" if it runs better than the "new" solution.

Clock and bus speed only serve to increase performance; they are not an end to themselves. How does AMD have higher clock speeds? Intel has a 3.33GHz Core 2 Duo, but the fastest clock speed AMD has in an Athlon X2 is 3GHz. And the E8600 at 3GHz beats that Athlon in performance too. Compare clock speed for clock speed and you will find that the Intel CPUs win. I like AMD's processors and I have used them in the last year. But right now, Intel CPUs are faster. Full-stop.
